Gordon is a former Art College Lecturer, Head of Art, Design & Media, College Marketing Manager and former Branding Business Owner. For the past 6 years he has made digital paintings and mixed media artworks pretty much every day.

Artist Talk : The Handwritten Letter Appreciation Society

Established by Dinah Johnson, The Handwritten Letter Appreciation Society is a way to bring together people who love to write and receive handwritten letters, and to stop them from becoming a lost art. The hope is that handwritten letters will go on forever and ever. And if the Society encourages just one person to write a letter to a friend or relative or someone famous, it will be a triumph! There has been a boom of people joining the society since March 2020 and its founder Dinah Johnson, will be joining us in this talk to explore that interest.

Paper pioneer Jennifer Collier creates exquisite sculptures from vintage recycled materials in conjunction with stitch; a contemporary twist on traditional textiles. The papers serve as both the inspiration and the media for the work, with the narrative suggesting the forms. Through this marriage of unlikely materials old papers are transformed into something truly unique, delicate and complex.

Zine Workshop

Workshop: Zine Making Workshop [Online]

This online zine making workshop revolves around the idea of junk mail.

In preparation for the workshop, you are required to collect junk mail or begin having ideas around the subject. We will be using the junk mail as materials to collage to make new artwork from during the session. Once you have signed up you will be given a document with a run through for the day and the materials that you would need to collect ready for the workshop.
